These tiny babies are just ONE WEEK OLD and have thermal burns affecting their paw pads, lower bellies, and groin areas. They need additional medical treatment and continued care beyond what the shelter can provide. 🙏 A rescue or foster willing to help these babies recover could save their lives. They are only beginning their little lives and deserve the chance to heal, grow, and thrive. ❤️🐾 🐶 THE PUPPIES • Brandon – A1301953 (Male) • Jude – A1301954 (Male) • Callie – A1301955 (Female) 🐕 MOM: STEF – A1301952 • 3 years old • Unaltered female • Heartworm status: Pending Stef is also at the shelter and is NOT currently at risk. She seeks affection, allows pets, and accepts treats. She does not walk on a leash. Shelter staff noted that she may growl as a warning when protecting treats around another pet, so appropriate management around food is important. 🩺 MEDICAL CONCERNS On 10/19, all three puppies were noted to have significant redness of the skin around their groin and lower abdomen, as well as their paw pads. The appearance was concerning for possible thermal burns from a heating pad or other hot surface. Silver sulfadiazine (SSD) cream was to be started, with close monitoring and rechecks. The puppies also need FDT (further diagnostic testing/treatment as indicated by the shelter). These newborns need continued medical attention, warmth, and careful supportive care as they recover. 💕 🚨 THE PUPPIES ARE AT RISK.
