@chriscerney: Four men were arrested during a multi-agency undercover operation targeting individuals allegedly using the internet to seek sexual contact with minors. The operation was conducted August 14 and 15 by Homeland Security Investigations in San Francisco, with assistance from the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators say the suspects allegedly engaged in sexually explicit online conversations and arranged to meet people they believed were underage. Authorities identified the men as 28-year-old Omar Rivera Hernandez of Gilroy, 32-year-old Luis Cruz Jr. of Marina, 32-year-old Andrew Jesus Ledesma of Watsonville and 28-year-old Jovany Ollua Carbajal of Seaside. The Sheriff’s Office says they were arrested on suspicion of offenses including attempted lewd or lascivious acts with a child under 14, contacting a minor with intent to commit a sexual offense, and arranging or going to a meeting with someone believed to be a minor for sexual conduct. Their listed bail amounts range from $100,000 to $200,000. The operation also involved CHP, California State Parks, Del Rey Oaks Police, Greenfield Police, Salinas Police, Seaside Police, the Monterey County District Attorney’s Office and the United States Attorney’s Office. The investigation remains ongoing, and additional state or federal charges could be filed.
