@615nav: A Nashville hospital is facing an investigation after a medication mix up allegedly left a 72 year old woman paralyzed from the chest down. Glenda Dorton’s family says she went to Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital Midtown for a routine knee replacement and was supposed to get an epidural. Instead, they say she was given potassium chloride, a drug that can be extremely dangerous if administered incorrectly. Her family says she is now paralyzed from the chest down and remains in the ICU as they wait to find out if any of the damage can be reversed. Ascension Saint Thomas says Dorton is one of at least four patients affected by an unspecified event at the hospital. I’ve been to every hospital in the Nashville and nearby areas and let me just say by far st Thomas is a dump. It’s 1000% less nice than Vanderbilt and very dated, never had a nurse be nice to me ever, and had many bad experiences getting Ivs done the wrong way. This isn’t even shocking.
