Kailey Erhart, 22, is accused of K*lling two of her children and seriously Inj*ring a third inside a home in Mandan. According to an affidavit cited by local media, officers arrived after receiving reports that a mother had St*bbed her children. Police allege Erhart was holding a kitchen Kn*fe near her own throat and was covered in Bl*od when they entered. She reportedly dropped the Kn*fe and told officers to K*ll her. Then police followed a trail of Bl*od through the house. Inside a bedroom, officers found three young children lying on a bed with severe C*tting and St*bbing Inj*ries around their necks. A 3-year-old and a 5-month-old D*ed. A 1-year-old survived after surgery, police said. Authorities allege that before officers arrived, Erhart had threatened the children’s father and grandmother and forced them from the home. The father also told investigators that Erhart had allegedly threatened him with a G*n. Police obtained cellphone footage that allegedly showed her holding one child while saying, “Say goodbye to your kids.” The children’s father then called 911. According to investigators, Erhart later said she remembered placing the children on the bed after Inj*ring them but had limited memory of much of the night. Police said the couple was in the process of separating, and the father had previously expressed concerns about Erhart’s mental health. Erhart now faces multiple charges, including M*rder and attempted M*rder. No motive has been publicly established. Three children went to bed that night, but only one survived.
