But he’d be so proud of me. He’d be so glad that his toughest years meant something. He’d want to listen for hours about my wins and my losses, my hopes and dreams, my growth and change. He deserves to be loved. To love yourself is to wrap that young, silly, arrogant, careless young man in a blanket woven by all you’ve been through together and remind him that he is, to you, the single most important person in the universe. Rave for hours about how much he means to you, and then set him on your shoulders so that he may have the best view of what you’ll take on together tomorrow.
