I feel like learning asl and Spanish is so underrated in the medical field. It is so important and I have started learning for my journey.

Chicago school for the deaf has free online classes you can learn at your own pace. It helps when I’m on the ambulance a lot.

A few of your signs are a little off like sick should be with your open hand and your middle finger taps your stomach and forehead. And need your finger doesn’t wiggle, your hand moves up and down. To everyone in comments/watching: please learn from Deaf teachers and content creators. She is doing a great job but is not teaching.

i duetted to show you some of the corrections but also to explain why it's important not to teach while you're learning. especially with medical terms. so many Deaf people get misdiagnosed because of the misunderstanding in communication. keep practicing though! trust me, it makes a big difference for us when someone in the medical field can communicate directly to us.

Also don’t forget facial expressions that is HUGE part of ASL grammar. I saw someone already commented on the sign for sick being off. But other than those two you did amazing! Thanks for learning asl for the deaf community

Learning from Deaf or Hard of Hearing people is important ❤️I’m an EMT who took multiple ASL classes (including Deaf Culture and Fingerspelling) before working in the field. Some of your signs are off, but you’re doing awesome! I just recommend learning from someone in the Deaf community and being mindful of teaching others as a hearing person.
