@jillinewell: Bonus fact: The most landed on squares in monopoly aren’t random after all, and it’s bc of jail

You can’t role a 7 to get to Park Place, because 7 spaces before that sends you directly to jail. Getting the red and yellow properties is better on that side of the board. Even if you have green and blue, that is less squares they can land on. The first row often gets skipped by going to jail. You have to roll low to land on the second row, besides 8 and 9. Two roles slightly above or under average gets you money if they go to jail. People didn’t deny it if you always win that way. I would go to jail to keep them from stealing it from me first.

Light blues are the way. Go and the tax squares have multiple was to get to them. And then light blues are on tier one of house and hotel cost. So you can slumlord your way to higher hotel payouts more easily. Orange is a healthy second where there’s high lands and they’re on tier two of upgrade costs. Those are good to run with multiple houses to short supply.
