@dr.harrischoe: Knee strength & mobility exercises. These are movement patterns I like to train for a majority of my knee rehab athletes. We want to not only strength the local new and quad muscles, but also the muscles up and below the chain of leg muscles. Here’s what we focused on here: 1️⃣ Quad Strength: the quad is the first muscle we want to load again after knee injury. Whether it’s initial swelling or pain - the body will naturally unload the joint and the quads will atrophy. So we want to load early and as hard as possible. 2️⃣ Ankle Strength: the calf/soleus complex is important not only for ankle stability, but also knee flexion control during flexion based movement patterns. 3️⃣ Multidirectional Strength: we want to make sure we introduce different planes of motion during rehab to prepare for the chaotic environment of sports. #kneerehab #aclrecovery #meniscus

Love seeing multidirectional work, building strength above and below the knee matters too.
