What about an accurate map on an actual globe? If you look at all globe, they actually represent a Mercator map.

The Mercator projection is not wrong; it’s doing exactly what it’s supposed to do which is to show the accurate distances between countries / ports by sea

thank you for the objective insight into map projections. since digital geography and gps make the Mercator projection obsolete, then a projection that prioritizes relative size, then position is probably the best compromise for a flat map.
