If my 6'2" 220lb ass fit on an R3 I'd get one for sure for my first bike. I'm aiming for an R7. Ninja 500 is ok, the price is definitely right compared to an R7 even with the SE edition. But I like the look of Yamahas more than Ninjas. 🤷♂️

Nothing wrong with 300cc or 90 max speed. Honestly if you are riding normally - that’s all you need.

Get the 300, ride your ride, you don't need speed while learning. "90mph a lot of cars are going faster than that" not legally they're not. R3 is a solid starter

im on my first bike atm. 3 days in. I own a 2026 yamaha R3 and its a fantastic beginner bike. at the end of the day your first bike should not be about speed. the R3 i have is really easy to shift around and runs very smoothly. at no point should you be going above 95 as a beginner much love stay safe!!

Should’ve went with the 300, you don’t need to go 90mph and when you dropped it you couldn’t get it back up yourself which is very important in case something happens and you can’t get help. With it being your first bike too it would’ve been better to get smaller cc better to control
