You’re tripping. She wanted to QUIT school to pursue fashion even tho fashion is a very unstable and unreliable goal, and he always supported jenny’s love for fashion he just never wanted it to get in the way of her school work. And dan never wanted to drop out of school to be a writer see VERY different situations, also if you’re talking about their dating lives jenny was 16 when she wanted to lose her virginity to a drvg dealer, and dan was 18 with a normal girl VERY big difference again, rufus was an AMAZING father, actually he was the only good parent in this show

The difference is that Dan didn’t do anything too horrible while we was still a kid, while jenny was only 13-14 stealing,running away, bullying, etc… so you can see the difference between them two and why they were treated so differently

everybody is defending rufus but he NEVER even let jenny explain herself, always being like “your going back to brooklyn” like he had the right to manipulate her life like she’s a porcelain doll, making her go back and forth from the upper east side. while with Dan he always listened to the full story and was always like “i know u’ll make the right decision”, never even threatening him of anything.

Pretending this is not a man’s world is so stupid, something that most people are not mentioning is that Jenny is LITERALLY a GIRL, a teenager that was easily manipulated ALL the TIME, with agnes, etc. Rufus was protecting her girl in the only way that he could think of. Rufus knew that taking caring of a girl is not the same as a boy. Pretending that we live in a world where women and men are both safe is dumb asf, that’s why he was more protective with Jenny and also Dan never got into such trouble as Jenny did. Is not that hard to understand.

I think Dan wanted to be a writer and go to college like a very academic pathway unlike Jenny who didn’t care about school and wanted to be a fashion designer he probably just didn’t want her to make the same mistakes he made dropping out and joining a band

Jenny was literally 14 or 15 here and jenny was always testing Rufus's patience at least Dan never humiliated him the way jenny did in early seasons one day she's stealing and fighting with Blair knowing she's the queen B and messing with her will only cause her the humiliation and crashing parties and start her fashion runway be real man jenny was the real pain..
