Pale skin only became a thing around 3000 years ago, cheddar man is 10,000 years old so ofc he was dark skinned! So was every other human that existed that long ago, we are decendents of dark skinned humans that migrated out of Africa, humans started living in what is now the uk around 900,000 years ago and as the ice retreated to the poles more land was exposed so more humans arrived to colonise the land, and that far away from the sun our skin gradually became lighter toned.
