@officialemirick: Nigeria has about 36.8 million hectares of arable land, giving the country enormous potential to produce enough food for its population. Yet, millions of Nigerians still face food insecurity. The major problem is not the lack of land, but low agricultural productivity and poor food systems driven by insecurity, expensive farm inputs, inadequate irrigation and mechanisation, poor roads and storage, climate shocks, and post-harvest losses. The solution: Nigeria must secure farming communities, invest heavily in irrigation, mechanisation, storage and rural infrastructure, make quality inputs affordable, and strengthen agro-processing. The goal should be to turn Nigeria’s vast arable land into productive farmland—not simply have land lying unused. #Agriculture #farmland #arablefarming
