Chur Jayden. Good on you for speaking up and getting this out there. Most caregiver’s don’t give a fark about the kids as long as that pay check is coming in. I was put in a boys home by child youth and family when I was young, I was just lucky to get one of the good caregivers. Keep speaking up and I wish you and your sister all the best 🫡❤️

Kia Ora I’m 31 now and a mama. And I was also in CYFS (when it was known as CYFS) and uplifted on my 9th birthday from Takanini primary. Will never forget that. Moved around heaps and never really spoke about what I went through in that system but you’re not alone. It gets better ✨🤎 thank the Lord I have Jesus and found Him or He found me (was always with me as He is with you too) not religion but in truth and in wairua. He’s all I got. And I have all I need and just want to encourage you. Arohamai 🤎✨

He seems like a decent young man, but he is by no means the norm. Many of the kids in care have either ,social, physical or physiological disorders. If they have been uplifted its because either they were handed over because their parents could no longer deal with them or they were uplifted because their home situation was untenable, usually because of drugs or alcohol. The system cares for 100's of kids with issues such as Autism and fatal brain injury. Across the country 100's of carets do an incredible job looking after some of our most disadvantaged, mistreated and vulnerable kids. There will always be failures in the system because ,a the carers are u der paid and overworked and b some of the kids are so broken they may never come right. Orange Tamariki get a lot of flak , but I for one think that every care in NZ deserves a medal. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK !
