Virginia Woolf is probably my all-time favourite modernist I love her stream of consciousness and the way she gets so deeply into the characters’ minds. And Hemingway for his simple, understated style and everything he leaves unsaid. Ezra Pound is one I’ve only recently come across and found really interesting 👀 Have you read The Cantos? What do you think of him?

Completely unrelated to the video topic but you were discussing A Room With a View some odd videos ago and I finally finished it and thoroughly enjoyed it so thanks for the recommendation ☺️

among the others I also really enjoy Hemingway!! A few years ago I read Fiesta (the sun also rises) and I remember not being able to take my eyes off of it. Do you like him?

I came across your channel recently, and I’m really glad I did. I wanted to start reading more, especially classics and older genres of literature. You seem to have a good deal of knowledge and I’m not quite sure where to start 😅 Do you have any recommendations of books for beginners trying to get more into classics? (I tried to dm you but forgot I can only send one message at a time 😔)

Hey Frederick! I would love to hear your thoughts on note-taking while reading! I feel like I’m missing out if I don’t take notes, but it always becomes sort of tedious and takes forever. You seem to have it figured out, so I’d love to hear your approach!

Frederick, you really are my favorite literary content creator. I love to research what you talk about so deeply that I've become a nerd. Every professor at my university loves me. Thank you. 🌷

Herman Melville was a modernist before it even existed as a literary movement.

Wow, I really love the way you describe books. It’s not just that you read them, but that you actually understand and connect with them, and I find that really inspiring. It honestly motivates me to read more, especially since my library is still pretty small. Thanks to your videos, there are so many books I had previously overlooked that I’m now curious to explore and see in a completely different way.❤️❤️❤️❤️
