Had to show an old boy at work how a dual monitor works because he kept "losing the pointer". The dual monitor has been there for 5 years and he's just lucked out and not moved the cursor to the other screen the whole time

One of my friends works for the fire service and he says that the younger guys are literally just waiting for the boomers to retire because they hold all the roles with power the younger guys want to move up but can’t because of the boomers and GEN X

There is litrally no reason why boomers cant use a computer or a phone as computers have been around since the 80s but im always hearing the excuse of oh im not a computer person and things like that it winds me up as im 41 and always looking at the next technologys and learning about them.

I had an older woman training me to do a task that involved going into a folder on the shared drives. This folder was buried into about 12 subfolders and it took way too long to get back to it each time. I started creating a shortcut to that folder so I could streamline the process, only for her to angrily say "Wait! What are you doing!?" After I explained it was a shortcut to the folder I needed, she said "You're just wasting time, do it how I said." Insufferable.

My 76 yo mother said she was no good with technology cause they ‘didn’t grow up with it’. Bollocks I say, I’m 56 and it wasn’t around when I was born either but somehow I learnt and am willing to continue to learn.

one of our "Typists", remember the job title. im decades behind her in experience. asked the "typist" to type a letter. took her ages just 1 A4 short letter. went to ask the delay and saw her screen as I walked in (her back facing me) why has she typed the letter in Excel in square A1🤦♂️
