Scuba divers and free divers feel the affects of pressure on their ears and sinuses at depth! 🤿 This is because as you go deeper, pressure increases. This pressure has an impact on air but not water. Your ears and sinuses are an air space so feel this affect. Equalising your ears adds air back into the air space and contacts the pressure felt that depth. Luckily, air expands as we come up and this air comes out naturally so we do not need to equalise as we surface! The biggest pressure change is between 0-5m so this is where it’s most important to equalise! #pressureunderwater #equalise #scubadiving #scubascience #physics
