I hope this is okay to add, I’m on the fence about commenting this so I probably should not. I think the term neuro spicy is precisely a good way to communicate to your audience that you’re very intelligent and high functioning although you have a little bit unusual speech pronunciation. That’s exactly the kind of thing we have this term for, it makes it super clear and easy to understand you. I hope that’s not offensive! I have trouble communicating myself and wish I had a way to tell people not to discredit me as soon as I open my mouth and talk either too fast or too slow.

The first time I saw your videos, that intro immediately made me think this person knows who she is and isn’t letting a diagnosis or circumstance completely define her. I think it’s pretty powerful (as someone with mental health and neurodivergence through my entire family) when you decide to work with it and create your own reference to it instead of letting it control you. In the population you’re speaking to I don’t think it’s harmful if anything it’s a positive example

The way I see it, there will always be people who disagree with what you say and how you see the world. You can listen to them and then decide if it’s a them problem or a you problem. This sounds like a them problem 🤷🏻♀️as an ND it’s just another descriptor to me and yes, one you get to decide how you feel about for yourself. It’s not their business and I really struggle to see how it’s harmful to anyone. Seems like a stretch. They might need to go touch some grass 💀 love your vids!!

I do like that term but I’m also a Scorpio stellium so I am spicy…and also neurodivergent lol. I get that it kinda implies that neurotypical people are “bland” bc everything in this society has to be a dichotomy for whatever reason but I mean also 🤷🏽

I'll be honest, when I first found you I did have a negative reaction to the term. I am mom to a high needs child and my initial reaction felt it was belittling my daily life. I realized however, that adult members of the community that have the ability to express themselves should ALWAYS be able to do so. I hope my son can one day do the same. I want his voice listened to, and want yours listened to too. I also agree that you should just respect what folks want to be referred to or labeled as, ie pronouns like your example. And of course the astrology was just too good to not stay ✨

I agree with everything you said in your post—and I must say as a licensed therapist, it sounds to me like that person is operating from ego, rather than a place of humility, curiosity and compassion, which is what you’d HOPE to get from a therapist. And speaking for myself I start with every client by telling them THEY are the expert on them, not me. Who am I to tell someone who they are or what they SHOULD be doing?? Which I suspect you’ll agree with in how you work with people and their charts! Also, you bring joy and hope to me every week with your Neuro spicy self and content! Glad her ridiculous comment didn’t shake your confidence. 🙃🥳✨
