Next time you walk into a shopping centre, do not forget this du’a. The Prophet ﷺ taught that whoever says this upon entering the marketplace receives an enormous reward: one million hasanat, one million sins forgiven, one million درجات raised, and a house in Jannah. لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ وَهُوَ حَيٌّ لَا يَمُوتُ بِيَدِهِ الْخَيْرُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ Transliteration: La ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul mulku wa lahul hamd, yuhyi wa yumit, wa huwa hayyun la yamut, biyadihil khayr, wa huwa ala kulli shay’in qadir. Translation: There is no god but Allah alone, without any partner. To Him belongs all dominion and all praise. He gives life and causes death, and He is Ever Living and does not die. In His hand is all good, and He has power over all things. Imagine entering a place filled with distractions and remembering Allah instead.
