Jennie stared at her for a moment before slowly leaning into the hug. The thunder continued outside. Lisa barely had time to put down her bag before Jennie wrapped both arms around her. Lisa hugged her back. “Missed me that much?” Jennie nodded against her shoulder. “Very much.” “You called me after only one thunder.” “It was a scary thunder.” “Of course it was.” Another rumble sounded outside. Jennie immediately squeezed Lisa tighter. Lisa smiled and gently covered Jennie’s ears, just like she had done all those years ago underneath that playground slide.
