I had this problem. I went around and closed all the vents, and put a box fan on a table next to the vent. Im telling you, it used to be so hot to sleep and now you can feel the cold air blowing around.

These can be used to overcome restriction, but shouldn’t be used to fix a problem that needs to be corrected. These should be used modestly and not to pull 900 CFM for one vent. If you have the JDS design layout for your home, this can give you some baselines to start with.
