The Arab nations were all countries that just got their independence from France, Britain, Italy, etc. They had very weak military infrastructures but still intervened trying to protect Palestinians being displaced and forced out of their lands ! Israel on the other hand had financial and military support from USA and Europe. Also Palestine was not a desert ! It s a rich agricultural land with tons of olive trees !
