This whole world is disloyal. Don’t even think about loyalty; who will turn out to be loyal?

I get so many questions about my Asthma🫁 . So here it is….. . 6 years ago, I running alone at the USC track. I did an “all out” 2 mile and got a personal best. . I stopped to catch my breath but it seemed like I couldn’t calm down. I took knee and continued but nothing changed. I then started to feel like I was breathing through a straw and felt like my airway was closing. . My chest felt extremely tight and I couldn’t believe what was happening. . I eventually went from one knee to all four attempting to crawl out of the stadium track but I didn’t have the strength. . Finally, I decided to call 911. I could barely even speak on the phone call. When EMS arrived on scene, I laid out. I don’t even remember how I got inside of the ambulance. . As soon as I was hooked up to oxygen, I was fine. . I was a little embarrassed and really didn’t want all of the attention. . But, i decided to record a small clip, because I felt like no one would believe me if I told them that I had almost passed out from a 2 mile run. 🥲 . A breathing test confirmed that I had “Exercise Induced” Asthma. It sounded so dumb to me. . This was also a challenging time because I was about to Commission back into the Military. . I had to be medically cleared before returning. Understand that I had already served in the military for 10 years up to this point. I do not think that you can initially join with asthma. ⭐️ . After my asthma attack, I had to rebuild my body. The attack was a trumatic event. I had to be patient with my progress. I slowly built my self and my confidence back up that you see now. . A key practice of mine is taking my inhaler before I run and keeping it on me during my runs. . I feel like every time I take off for a run, I roll the dice😮‍💨 . That’s the main reason why I don’t compete or even see anyone else. Just to run 1 mile is a huge accomplishment for me. . On days that my breathing is off, I don’t force my body. I listen and sometimes, I walk. . And that’s ok…. . See y’all at the @armytenmiler and we’re continuing to build for the @marinecorpsmarathon. .
