There’s nothing scarier than getting into a hanging swing that you hung up yourself… 😂 But thankfully, I did it the right way and this baby’s not going anywhere! If you wanted to hang a swing or a chair on your porch, it’s easier than you think! You want to buy a heavy duty eye hook (mine is rated for 800lbs). DO NOT not use the screws that it comes with. They are not long enough. Get 3in structural screws so that you are able to screw into the stud at least 2 inches for the most support. Find the stud and screw it centered on the stud. If you do not have a stud where you want to hang it, you may have to add bracing in the ceiling if you can access it above. I ordered a 45in chain (we have 8ft ceilings) and cut off the access.
