Idk why y’all are so upset lol. You would’ve hated whatever the Marauders series turned out the be. Canonically speaking, the Marauders weren’t the precious queer, poc, sunshine daisy, pranksters y’all have made them out to be in the fandom. They’re 4 mid-high class white boys who go around hexing and bullying other Hogwarts students, especially Snape. I mean, it was mostly James and Sirius doing the bullying, with Peter egging them on because he was so far up their asses, and Remus just standing on the sidelines doing absolutely nothing to stop them, despite being a prefect, because that was the first time in his life he’d ever had friends due to his lycanthropy. You’re not going to see any actual growth or maturity until their 6th year.

I think most of you people in the comments are just straight up racist and find any excuse to excuse why you don't want Snape to be a person of color!! He looks awesome as Snape and adds more character to the story, the show is likely going to talk about racism along with other things magical but is that bad. You know pointing out Racsim and bullies and harrassment, SA (maybe). It's going to be a really good show. The main thing that makes me feel some of you guys are racist is straight up "Snapes not black, he is white" Snape is a fictional character he can be any race the director and artist decides he is!! If you loved the books it wouldn't matter his race it would matter how good the actor plays the role. Not just if you like the books but if you also don't care for people's race. "He is emo" oh so people of color can't be emo -_- like what ohhhhhh yall piss me off
