I must express my profound indignation, Atty. Claire: not only does your stance stand in flagrant derogation of the animating ethos and cardinal precepts that constitute the very bedrock of the Magna Carta—transgressing against its foundational spirit, subverting its inherent intent, and repudiating the immutable principles upon which its authority is predicated—but your attempt to cast aspersions upon and impugn the integrity of the educator strikes at the very height of injustice. This unjust apportionment of culpability fills me with righteous fury, for you have not merely contravened the letter and spirit of the law, but have also laid blame where no fault lies, in utter disregard of equity and truth.

Teachers are not perfect, but neither should we be the convenient scapegoat for every problem in education and society. Yes, naiintindihan ko na sinabi niya na may “iilan” at hindi niya nilalahat. However, she should have pointed out all the factors that affect a student’s behavior and demeanor, such as government policies, the educational system, and parenting, instead of seemingly pointing fingers at a single profession. After all, parents are the first in line when it comes to disciplining and guiding their children.
