I do this to mine I even had two that I took indoors over winter started reblooming then stopped so I chopped them and now there coming back like it should be

Omg I have lime lights that are 20 yrs old I haven’t cut them back . I had about three landscapers offer me $ I said nope and I added more over time and they are a show stopper July into aug. Just recently we trimmed back
