Yes but a black man, Lewis Howard Latimer in 1881 and 1882, patented an improved carbon filament and an efficient way to manufacture it. This made incandescent light bulbs much stronger, longer-lasting, and cheaper for everyday use.

It’s the same with the telephone. Americans want to claim that it was invented in the US, but if you look up where Alexander Graham Bell primarily resided, and where he felt like he was home away from Scotland. It was Canada, Cape Breton NS to be exact.

The light bulb was actually invented in England in 1802. Canadas light bulb was created in 1874. This is easy information to find. Edison only bought patents & never actually invented anything.
