I've thought about this a lot, the only scenario that makes sense is if the door was locked from inside to stop the kids entering. the attempted murder took place, assumed complete when Lindsay hit the ground. you couldn't check tho cause a second person couldn't be seen near that window! with blood on their hands they opened the door and a drop dripped down the internal edge. if Lindsay went over and locked the door after cutting herself - where is the trail? did she make one superficial cut then lock the door after hearing Patrick return before everything else and lobbing herself head first out the window in a hurry? but the blood around the bed rules out this scenario, there was a pool, she had been bleeding out there for a while. Patrick didn't describe hearing a commotion, he heard silence. there's no need for Lindsay to lock that door, the kids were presumably dead. Patrick not home yet. this case is sus as fk. law enforcement screwed up!
