That’s quite common here in the UK. It actually happened to a friend of mine as well, and they collected £3,000 from him. I would advise you to transfer the money to them through your bank account so that you have clear evidence and a transaction record. Keep all the messages, receipts, bank details and other correspondence. then report the matter to the police/Report Fraud with all the evidence.
