@c.e.o_eddy: Client says: “I don’t trust you.” Don’t try to convince them. Don’t panic. You will lose that deal if you start defending yourself. Here is what most business owners get wrong: When a client says they don’t trust you, they are not always saying, “You are a bad person.” Sometimes they are saying: “I don’t have enough information to feel safe yet.” Their brain is asking simple questions: “Will this person do what they promised?” “What happens if things go wrong?” “Can I depend on them?” “Have other people had a good experience with them?” So when you immediately start saying: “Please trust me.” “I’m very professional.” “I would never disappoint you.” “I’ve done this for years.” You are trying to remove doubt with words. But words alone rarely remove doubt. In fact, too much defending can create another problem. The client may think: “Why are they trying so hard to convince me?” Instead of fighting their doubt, find out what created it. Ask: “I understand. What specifically is making you unsure about working with me?” Now you have something useful. Maybe they had a bad experience before. Maybe your process is unclear. Maybe they don’t understand what happens after payment. Maybe they simply need more proof before making a decision. Once you know the real concern, you can address THAT concern. I once had a customer who said, “I’m not comfortable moving forward yet.” Instead of sending a long message explaining how trustworthy I was, I asked what was making the customer uncomfortable. The customer explained that they had previously paid another business and struggled to get updates. That changed everything. I didn’t argue. I simply explained my process, showed exactly when updates would be given, and made the next steps clear. The customer’s fear was not really about my business. It was about being left in the dark again. That is the lesson. When a client says they don’t trust you, don’t immediately try to prove that they should. First, discover what their doubt is protecting them from. Then remove the uncertainty with clarity, evidence, process, or action. Trust becomes easier when people don’t have to guess what will happen next. And that is one of the biggest lessons inside my ebook, The Client Code. It goes deeper into client psychology, communication, objections, trust, and the mistakes that quietly cost businesses opportunities. If poor communication is costing you clients, check the link in my bio. #ClientPsychology #BusinessCommunication #ClientManagement #BusinessGrowth #TheClientCode
