the thing about communism IS WE DON'T ACTUALLY KNOW. because the United States literally destroys countries that try to move towards it we don't know if it works, but China is trying to move in that direction currently but they knew that they had to bolster their economy first by diving into capitalism and slowly moving into social and it's their goal to be fully socialist by 2030 and moving towards communism thereafter. And as it currently stands China is looking to be the world's next super power. they beat us in almost every net positive measure and even their poor citizens report a more positive outlook than middle class Americans

I mean I hate to burst your bubble that isn't what communism is. The government owning all of the industries is more in line with a state planned, more authoritarian version of socialism (socialism exists on the spectrum much like capitalism). Communism is the end goal of all socialism where you live in a classless, moneyless, stateless society. The government can't own the means of production if there isn't a state.

I believe in capitalism and private business. But I also believe there are certain things that are too important to be driven primarily by profit. Healthcare. Schools and colleges. Utilities. Energy and natural resources. Public transportation. Prisons. Basic services people literally need to live. I’m not saying the government should own everything. I’m saying maybe not everything in society should be a profit center. There should be some things we collectively decide are there to serve the people first and make money second.
