@islanderstv: It was a gathering of joy, culture and celebration last Sunday as High Chief Hakeem Ishola Dada, popularly known as Elediye, the Baale of Oko Oke in the Igando area of Lagos, marked the 10th anniversary of his coronation and reign as the traditional head of the community. Over the past decade, the Baale’s leadership has been credited with contributing to the growth and development of Oko Oke, while fostering unity, peace and a strong sense of belonging among residents, chiefs and other stakeholders in the community. His 10 years in office have also been marked by efforts to strengthen peaceful coexistence and promote development, with members of the community coming together to celebrate the progress recorded under his leadership. Islanders was live at the colourful celebration, which attracted first-class kings from Lagos, traditional rulers, chiefs, business moguls and other prominent personalities who gathered to honour the Baale and celebrate his remarkable decade on the throne. Adding glamour to the occasion was the presence of the King of Fuji Music, King Dr. Saheed Osupa, who was on the bandstand to thrill guests with his energetic and unforgettable musical performance, bringing the celebration to a grand finale. The 10th coronation anniversary therefore served not only as a celebration of traditional leadership but also as a reflection of a decade of peace, unity, community development and service to the people of Oko Oke.
