@powers_plants: @Michael & Sam New homeowners should spend their first year evaluating the plants that they have and figuring out what should be kept and what should be removed. In Sam and Michael’s case, they have some beautiful Joe Pye Weed and it’s thriving in there wet full sun garden and so is the dwarf Bush honeysuckle. They are just too big and flopping onto the lawn and just need to be redesigned. Too many people consider wild flowers and native shrubs weeds. I found so many cool flowers in my area - St. John's Wort, Italian Clematis, Nodding Trillium, Jewelweed, Creeping Bellflower, etc. I'd rather keep these plants than plant stuff that's going to die out in a couple of years.
