Deadheading your amaryllis after blooming is an important step for the plant’s long-term health and future performance. Once the flowers fade, remove the spent bloom stalks by cutting them off just above the bulb with clean, sharp scissors. This prevents the plant from directing energy into seed production, which zaps energy from the bulb. By deadheading, that energy is redirected back into the bulb, helping it rebuild its nutrient reserves and strengthen for next year’s bloom cycle. Proper deadheading encourages the bulb to focus on storing reserves during the post-bloom recovery phase, leading to larger, healthier flowers the following season. Neglecting this step often results in smaller blooms or delayed flowering in subsequent years. #amarylliscare #amaryllis #rebloomingamaryllis #indoorplantcare
