Yazi, I never uttered the words “I bought a house” when I moved there.🤣 I just celebrated moving into a bigger space and a new address. Anyway, once the offer to purchase it came as it was being sold months after I’ve moved in, ndathi andizi & left. Mna I live within my means guys 😂.

I sold mine last year because of the same reasons. I knew about the levies but they kept on increasing

Levies are basically as much as Rent...renting in your own house😭😭😭. Some people don't get it

That is why I’ll be building in the rurals, 1 hour away from the CBD. Off-grid and borehole water, I can’t with this system.

I just did my research on a 2.5m house free standing not in a gated estate/complex, the house is fully paid-off😭😭, but you still pay

I'm aware that's why I sold it because I can't imagine paying those for the rest of my life

Some estates are a better option if you’re a single lady. I paid for that safety and i was home for only 2 weeks a month. So i needed the peace of mind knowing that my house is under security watch. But as an investment, it’s really not working out.

We were discussing this with a colleague that we really just own the building we don’t own the land bcoz you will pay Rates and Taxes(Rent) until u are old enough to be recognised as indigent in some parts they just give u a discount…..So essentially the land still belongs to the municipality wena u just own the building
