If you’re able to afford living alone and feel like you have a strong community in nyc then it’s not a bad idea! But if you feel like you don’t have a strong community yet I would try to live with people since I think it will get lonely, especially since you won’t have any in person interactions with work. The Facebook group roommates seem a little sus from the outside but it’s actually really fine, especially if you get to meet them first. I met my current roommates on Facebook and they are lovely! Personally I would have felt really lonely when I first moved if I lived alone (although tbf it’s primarily a financial consideration for me so who knows what I would do if that was an option)
