I got mine done exactly 1 week ago today and I've already had to go back to the piercing shop on day 5 to get my shorter jewelry in ... it all depends on how well you maintain it the first 72 hours which is crucial. I will say my healing process is going exceptionally well but everyone is different ; i was just fortunate w/ mine and also w/ the shorter bar already in its so much easier to eat with , drink with , and etc ... I hope this is some what helpful information to anyone thinking about get one. I would also like to add that for myself , it wasn't even painful getting it done it burned but wasn't painful. however I handle pain at high tolerance level ; everyone is different.
