My Dad was struck by lightning while he slept in his tent., the Island he was on was entirely of rock, and when the strike hit, it travelled down the pole of his tent, thru the ground and up into his pillow, (burning a hole right thru that pillow) latched onto his silver necklace , travelled down his back and exited his body thru his side. It then travelled down the zipper of his sleeping bag and exited the tent hitting a small tree about 3 feet from the tent. My 10 yr old and his friend were in their own tent 10 feet away. They both received awards by the Commissioner General of Canada for saving his life. 🥹. Dad had leukaemia, that strike put his C into remission, and he lived another 17 years. He earned the title Lightning Bob, and never stepped foot outside during an electrical storm again… #gonebutnotforgotten I miss him so much 😞 RIP Daddy.

And people laugh at me when I won't go outside when there's lightning! While I have had 3 cervical surgeries, a lumbar fusion and pins and rods in my leg! I light up the machine at the airport, no way I'm going outside in that! 😂
