Lisa Manoban had one serious problem. Jennie Kim. Not personally. Not yet, at least. Jennie Kim was the biggest popstar in the country. The kind of artist whose songs played in cafés, malls, taxis, classrooms, and even in Lisa’s head during exams when she was supposed to be solving math problems. Lisa had posters of her. Albums. Photocards. A lightstick. Three hoodies from Jennie’s concert merch. And one framed ticket from the first concert she ever attended. Normal fan behavior. At least, that was what Lisa told herself. Unfortunately, her best friends disagreed. “You’re insane,” Jisoo said, watching Lisa carefully wipe dust off a Jennie photocard during lunch. Lisa gasped. “Don’t talk about my future wife like that.” Seulgi choked on her drink. “Future wife?” Lisa nodded seriously. “Yes.” Jisoo stared at her. “Lisa, Jennie Kim doesn’t know you exist.” “Yet.” “Yet?” Seulgi repeated. Lisa leaned back in her chair, holding the photocard like it was holy. “Listen. Maybe the reason I don’t have a girlfriend is because the universe is saving me for Jennie Kim.” Silence. Jisoo slowly turned to Seulgi. Seulgi slowly turned to Jisoo. Then they both looked back at Lisa. Jisoo sighed. “We need to get you help.” Lisa pointed at her. “You’ll thank me when you’re maid of honor.” “I refuse.” “Too late. I already imagined it.” Seulgi rubbed her forehead. “This is why we don’t let you listen to love songs before lunch.” Lisa only smiled and looked down at Jennie’s photocard. Jennie was smiling in it. Soft. Pretty. Untouchable. Lisa’s smile faded just a little. Because deep down, she knew Jisoo was right. Jennie Kim was a star. And Lisa was just a university student who sometimes forgot deadlines, lived on iced coffee, and had exactly zero chance of ever meeting her. But still. A girl could dream. That afternoon, the whole campus buzzed with news. A celebrity was coming. Not just any celebrity. A famous popstar. Lisa didn’t care at first. Their school always invited rich people and famous people for events. Then Seulgi came running into the classroom looking like she had seen God. “Lisa.” Lisa looked up lazily. “What?” Seulgi pointed toward the hallway. “Jennie Kim is here.” Lisa blinked. Then blinked again. Then stood so fast her chair fell backward. Jisoo grabbed her arm immediately. “No.” Lisa turned to her slowly. “Move.” “No.” “Jisoo.” “You are not embarrassing us in front of Korea’s biggest popstar.” Lisa clutched her chest. “I would never embarrass Jennie.” “You are wearing her face on your keychain.” Lisa looked down at her bag. Jennie’s tiny face stared back. Lisa covered it quickly. “She’s supporting me emotionally.” Seulgi peeked outside the classroom. “There are guards. She’s going to the auditorium.” Lisa’s soul nearly left her body. Jennie Kim. Here. Breathing the same campus air. Walking on the same floor. Existing in the same timezone, building, and possibly hallway. Lisa grabbed her notebook. Jisoo frowned. “Where are you going?” “To destiny.” “To detention,” Jisoo corrected, pulling her back. But Lisa was already gone. She rushed through the hallway, trying to look calm and failing completely. Students were crowding near the auditorium entrance, whispering and stretching their necks just to catch a glimpse. Lisa squeezed through them. “Excuse me. Sorry. Life-changing event coming through.” “Lisa!” Jisoo hissed from behind her. “Stop acting like a lost puppy!” Lisa ignored her. Then she saw her. Jennie Kim. Walking down the hallway surrounded by staff. Black sunglasses. Long coat. Perfect hair. The kind of beauty that made noise disappear. Lisa froze. Everything froze. For a second, Jennie turned her head slightly, and Lisa swore the whole world slowed down. Then a guard stepped between them. Reality returned. Lisa exhaled shakily. “Oh my God.” Jisoo arrived beside her, panting. “You look like you’re about to faint.” Lisa whispered, “I saw her.” Seulgi patted her shoulder. “Congratulations. You survived three seconds.” Check comsec for continuation #jenlisa #jenlisa_story #fanfiction #fyp #blackpink
