@jobinterviewology: Seven Deadly Interview Sins. Are you guilty? There are some interview habits that might seem harmless but could be making your performance considerably worse. Avoid things like: • Saying “great question” every time you’re asked something • Spending hours researching but barely practising your answers out loud • Trying to memorise your answers word for word • Treating every interview like it’s life or death and falling into a scarcity mindset • Assuming your interview performance reflects how good you actually are at your job • Avoiding small talk and missing the opportunity to build rapport before the interview even starts Great interviews aren’t about being perfect. They’re about preparing properly, communicating naturally and learning how to perform when it matters. #InterviewTips #JobInterview #InterviewQuestions #InterviewPreparation #jobinterviewtips

I recently had an interview, where the person kept his camera off for the initial 10min, I just couldn’t build a rapport the way I usually do with persons camera being off. I finished my presentation and kept my answers to minimum, my brain just got tangled up with this behaviour. Also he was in a rush, apparently had to get to patio after the interview. Of course I did not make it, but I m glad I didn’t what if he was my manager( what a horror) Interview is a two way process, I need a job but not that desperate to sign up for disrespect.

Being performative and personal will greatly improve your chances. Having recently been on the other side of the desk asking the questions, it’s the people who make the impression on the day that stand out. Sometimes you have less than an hour to get to know someone and if you’ve been shortlisted for interview, you are already likely qualified, so it’s the final impression that gets you across the line.

Good thing about working in education is there’s only usually one stage, sometimes with a task or presentation but that’s it 🤷♂️

I have a 2nd interview coming up what should I expect it's been a while since I applied externally.

I agree but I think that research into the organisation is good and getting that into your answers has a big impact as well. Practice makes perfect, having people who can mock interview you as well. Always ask for water, use it as a think moment if you get stuck

Thank you. Could you share a list of interview questions that we should prepare for? ( before having an interview invite)
