@johncullenlighting: A bar this glamorous comes with a lighting problem most people never think about: reflection. In this London home, designed with Hill House Interiors, the formal drawing room's bar is a showstopping focal point, built for entertaining, finished in high-gloss stone, polished worktops, and a mirrored splashback. Beautiful, but tricky: every one of those surfaces reflects light, and so does every bottle on display. Our solution was precision over power. Tiny pin spots of light were used to accent the bottles individually, resulting in almost no reflection at all, while frosted LED strips were tucked deep into the shelving, positioned out of the sightline so the light source itself disappears completely. The result is a bar that reads as effortlessly glamorous: glowing exactly where it should, with none of the glare that a space this reflective could easily have fallen into.
