im 34, and i had no idea pumpkin spice cafe was spicy (its just the end chapter) but I was so disappointed. sometimes we dont need spice and this 100% didnt need a shmex scene AT ALL. otherwise it would have been a Stunning YA book

honestly, ive read god of malice and THAT scene's purpose was to make killian unlikable...yet so many ppl romanticize him. i think its more like the 'fandoms' fault not the books.

I wouldn't say that the politics are talked about an unnecessary amount in rw&rb, half the plot of the book is literally about the mother of one of the mmc's running for president and how the mmc takes a part in helping her with that process, it is quite essential. however, i can understand why someone who's not from the US wouldn't be interested in that aspect of the book, since it is again quite a big part of the plot other than the romance obviously.

about rwarb, yes it has a lot of politics in it but mainly because one of these major plot points is the upcoming us presidential election! i think how their roles (son of the president and prince of england [or smth like that]) is very important on the background of politics - perhaps you might want to give the book a (second) try and/or just take a glimpse at the library or book store to see if you might like it (only if you want ofc, o hope this doesn’t come off as pushy)
