How do you stop the notifications from prompting when actively using an application? IE I open an app and need to tap something in the app but a notification prompts and maybe several back to back

I wish we I could do this for hearing aids! Imagine having AirPods in your ears from the moment you wake up until you go to bed, except you can’t take them out because you need them to hear. Now imagine every text, email, Teams alert, spam call, app notification, and system sound firing straight into your ears all day long. That’s what it feels like wearing hearing aids with an iPhone. It’s exhausting, distracting, and there’s no real app-by-app control.
