i wonder if you’d notice any difference trying grocery store eggs versus local, i know brands can matter for certain allergies sort of randomly

Can we talk about how time consuming allergy testing is? We fell off around 6yo and still need to take my 12yo back. He eats baked eggs but Culver’s makes him sick or anything with an egg wash

Our oldest son is now 20 and has been allergic to chicken eggs since he started on solid foods as a toddler. Unfortunately, he didn’t grow out of it. With the rise of vegan options, life has become a lot easier. But especially the time in kindergarten and elementary school was hard.

My daughter had a severe milk allergy. Her ige started over 60 and the numbers barely moved until we did the ladder challenge. She fully grew out of it by age 8. We had lost hope. The oral immunotherapy did wonders. I’m hoping the ladder challenge is successful for your daughter too. Food allergies are so scary.

it’s so interesting that we can both grow out of AND into allergies. i know someone who developed a shrimp allergy in her 30s.

We are on step 2 of the egg ladder with my 3 year old and it’s such a relief knowing we’ll get there! 1.5 years ago he got an epi in his thigh during his in office baked egg challenge

We found out about the frosting at my son’s second birthday. Fortunately it is just a rash reaction for him but all of a sudden he had rash around his mouth.

I’m allergic to eggs. I hate it because breakfast is always harder for me. I can eat baked and cooked in a very small amount. But if by any reason something wrong sneaks in I’ll be having the allergy for weeks because it triggers mcas. I’m so sorry you have this issue. Food allergies are such an inconvenience. Also mine comes and goes and it started around 23 years old.

don’t lose hope in any ladder or immunotherapy she may be eligible for! if she does not grow out of it, it will be ok - coming from an egg allergic girl of 24 years. she will always have the self advocacy skills you teach her 💗💗 allergy kids are so strong

I’m sure you are already aware but uncooked eggs can also be in certain brands of ice cream and gum as well. Just fyi because I had no clue.

My seven year old has an egg allergy, but it was never suggested that he see an allergist. We just get the blood test every two-ish years. Now I’m like, “should he see an allergist?” Lol. I hope your kiddo does well!

The ladder works. They also have a type of food therapy to decrease the allergy over time by introducing tiny amounts of the problem allergen.

As a baby I was allergic to dairy and eggs. Grew out of it as a child. In my early 20s both allergies came back.

Had an egg allergy as a kid, grew out of it, and then it came back full force at 6 weeks pp (and I ate eggs my whole pregnancy and 5 weeks after). Before I was used to checking, I was burned by a pint of Haagen Daas 😢

We deal with multiple allergies and I find eggs the sneakiest! Lots of sauces have mayo in them, some ice creams etc

My kiddo was a little slower growing out of his egg allergy, but did finally grow out of it using the egg ladder when he was 7. Hard-boiled eggs is now one of his favorite snacks.
