the same thing happens to me irl, im in canada and it only took 1 year for me to pick up the accent and mannerisms. people are so confused why im white and from south africa, I can still speak afrikaans fluently after being in canada for 5 years. I think us south Africans find it very easy to take on mannerisms. till this day a still can't speak in a south african accent unless I speak afrikaans. Im so happy to relate to you as a fellow south african 🥰✨
