I’m a preschool teacher, and honestly, I hate the idea that paying someone to care for your children while you work is somehow a “scam.” You are not paying someone else to raise your child. You are paying for a safe place for them to learn, grow, play, be loved, and be cared for during the hours you have to be away providing for your family. Every day, I am responsible for making sure my kiddos are safe. I’m watching them closely, comforting them when they miss their parents, helping them learn how to share and use their words, teaching them letters, numbers, colors, shapes, routines, independence, and so many of the little skills they need as they grow. I celebrate their victories, wipe their tears, clean up their messes, make sure they eat, drink water, rest, and know that someone is there to love on them when Mom or Dad can’t be there. And then, at the end of the day, they still go HOME to the people who are raising them—their parents. ❤️I work at a Christian-based preschool, and I couldn’t be more proud of what I do. I get to help teach these little ones about God’s love, kindness, prayer, and how to care for others while also helping provide them with a safe, nurturing environment. There is nothing “crazy” about parents needing help caring for their children while they work. It truly takes a village sometimes. Daycare and preschool teachers are not replacements for parents. We are part of their village. We are extra hands, extra hugs, extra encouragement, extra eyes keeping them safe, and sometimes a safe space for a little heart that just needs comfort until Mom or Dad comes back. ❤️So no, I don’t feel like I’m being paid to “raise someone else’s child.” I feel honored that parents trust me with the most precious thing in their entire world. And I take that responsibility seriously every single day. I am so proud of my job, so proud of the work we do, and so thankful to be a small part of helping these little ones grow into the people God created them to be. 🤍

I think it’s a scam to think everyone’s family should look the same for some people staying home works for other work isn’t just about paying daycare it’s about building something that can support them and their family’s needs as it changes they arnt baby’s forever and working can mean being able to take them on nice family vacations being able to afford college, help them pay for a wedding, paying for them to do camps for the sport and activities they love. It’s important that people understand that no matter what you do you sacrifice something for the whole family. Also your the one raising them your just using tools that help get your family where it needs to be

If I had a choice I would stay home, but my check is out here able to cover the mortgage and the car payments and that’s after daycare cost. Not all of us are working just to cover the daycare cost

What’s crazy is most Americans need three incomes for basic needs. If you have one income that supports a SAHM, great, but you’re the extreme exception, not the rule and certainly not judgmental pedestal worthy. “He works really hard” Well you can their a rock and hit a guy working 16 hour days that still has a wife working.
