When people try to act as if Messi vs CR7 was never a debate. Yes, Messi is better, but to say it was never close is just plain rewriting history. If the gap was as wide as people say, then CR7 would have never caught up in Ballon d'Ors, nor would Messi have underperformed in comparison during that late 2010s UCL era

Fully agreed. The "prove himself in different leagues argument" is null and void. If that argument was true, players like Maradona and Pele are not in the GOAT conversation. Maradona is mostly remembered for Napoli and Pele is mostly remembered for Santos in club football.

Ngl it strengthens Ronaldo case as football is about adaptability and how u can transform ur game. Ronaldo played and at some extent conquest serie a prem and laliga. But Messi played amazing at Barca were the system was catered to him. Whereas once he went to ligue 1 he was below standard because the system wa catered to how it was like Barca he underperformed. So it strengthen Ronaldo case but doent mean he is the goat.
