@caspiro.film: I Put a Roof Back on an Abandoned Stone Building in a Field In a plain farm field beside a muddy gravel track stood an abandoned stone outbuilding — thick lichen-grey walls still standing, no roof at all, the floor buried under broken slate. I threw the slate out armful by armful, levelled and repointed the wall tops, set timber rafters and reslated the whole roof, hung a door, glazed the old window opening and mounted a solar panel on the slope. Inside I laid an insulated timber floor, framed and boarded the walls under the bare rafters and built a rustic kitchen along the solid wall. Then I stepped through the old stone-lintel doorway into the attached store shed and plumbed a full bathroom into it — trench, drain pipe, gravel, membrane, insulated walls, tiles, panels and fixtures.
