Say what you like about Nintendo's many, many shortcomings- they are much better about announcing stuff closer to release dates and dropping info on upcoming stuff ahead of release.

Genuinely why do studios not wait until they have at least a playable build to announce stuff. Why do they decide to do it, make the bare minimum trailee before even writing and go "Yeah, lets tell EVERY gamer this is coming despite it being barely past the concept level"

Most people don’t realize that in a lot of cases the 1st trailer for these big games is LITERALLY all they have to show for it. They’re actually saying “Hey we’re STARTING to make this game” not “We’ve been working on this for the past couple years” which is some marketing bs
